Arian Smith – Deep Sleeper of the Year

By Shawn Lugo
Smith’s rare combination of size, Olympic-level speed, and flashes of production make him a classic boom-or-bust prospect. Lets dive in.

Looking for a deep sleeper with league-winning upside? Keep your eyes on Arian Smith. The 4th-round rookie out of Georgia quietly turned heads all offseason and might be the fastest player in his draft class. He’s already quietly drawing comps to Jameson Williamsin NFL circles. Clocking rumored 4.2 speed, Smith brings Olympic-level explosiveness to the field.

Drafted Round 4, Pick 110 – 2025 NFL Draft

9.20 RAS (Relative Athletic Score) – elite athletic profile.

**Smith was one of the fastest players in the entire class, and it showed. An NFC executive said:

“He’s going to run in the 4.2s. More than likely early 4.2s. He’s been one of the best-kept secrets in this draft. Although he won’t be a secret anymore after Indy.”**

And he wasn’t. Smith clocked times comparable to Matthew Boling—yes, that Matthew Boling from their UGA track days. That kind of straight-line speed at 6’0”, 185 lbs is rare.

He also shined at the Senior Bowl, showing he can get separation against NFL-level DBs. He does need to keep progressing with his hands and polishing up his route tree. (does have a case of the drops from time to time) If he earns a role early, especially in a vertical offense, Smith could be a home-run threat every week.

Let’s not forget what Arian Smith did to help Georgia win the Peach Bowl back in 2022: 3 catches, 129 yards, and a TD. Simply he could be a game-changer.

Remember the name. Arian Smith has the tools to go from Day 3 to Day 1 impact. Stash him late in deeper leagues or dynasty formats you might just land a gem before the rest of your league catches on. He's the kind of late-round flyer who could swing your season.
